GIA and AGS#1 in the world is the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). The diamond grading system that all labs use was developed by the Gemological Institute of America in 1931. The GIA Laboratory is regarded as the world's most respected authority on diamond grading. It grades the vast majority of the finest diamonds in existence and its reports are internationally recognized as the benchmark of excellence. The American Gem Society (AGS) also has one of the best known and well respected diamond grading laboratories in the world. AGS has been acclaimed as an innovator because of the extensive research and development that was and continues to be devoted to how well a diamond is cut. GIA and AGS are respected by consumers, jewelry retailers, and diamond manufacturers for accuracy and consistency in every aspect of diamond grading. The most distinguishing factors that separate the GIA and AGS Laboratories from other diamond grading laboratories is that of consumer protection. When you purchase a diamond with a GIA or AGS grading report, you are assured of the highest level of grading accuracy. North American Diamond Brokers has specifically chosen not to list diamonds with grading reports from gemological labs whose business practices we feel are not in the consumer's best interest. |
